From 2027 onwards, a structurally increased budget for basic skills, including digital literacy | CivAI News

From January 2027, schools in primary, secondary, and specialised education will receive structural additional funding to strengthen basic skills. This amounts to at least €206 extra per pupil per year. Previously, €182 was assumed, but this amount has now been increased.
Digital literacy is explicitly included within these basic skills, alongside language, mathematics, and citizenship. This gives schools more scope to make sustainable choices regarding digital skills, AI literacy, and responsible use of technology in education.

For
EduGPT this is an important development, as together with CivAI we not only provide a tool, but also train AI literacy every quarter, so that everyone stays up-to-date.

In the coming years, schools will face the challenge of embedding AI not only technically, but above all pedagogically and didactically. Pupils must learn how to use AI critically, consciously, and responsibly. Teachers need support for this, not only in the form of a platform, but also through training, guidance, and clear frameworks.

EduGPT offers a safe, EU-hosted AI learning environment in which teachers retain control and pupils can be guided in working on digital literacy, critical thinking, and reflection.

The structural funding from 2027 gives schools the opportunity to look ahead now.

Not only which technology do we purchase, but above all, which education do we want to strengthen with it?
