Generate Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF files, now directly from the EduGPT chat

New in EduGPT. You can now have complete documents generated directly from the EduGPT chat, the secure European AI chat environment for education. Word documents, Excel files, PowerPoints, and PDFs. You describe what you want, optionally add a file, and the Document Creation link builds the file for you. Download, open in Office, and continue working.

In this new knowledge clip, our CEO and Co-founder Pascal Mariany demonstrates three examples in five minutes.

What you see in the knowledge clip

The first example is a report on Area 51. In a single prompt, Pascal asks for the report and a Word document. EduGPT first displays the report in the chat, so you can review and adjust it, and then generates the Word file. One click on the download link and the report opens in Word.

The second example starts with a Word file that is not very readable, a large rubric with the HBO-i professional tasks. Pascal uploads the file and asks for a clear Excel file with a separate worksheet for each section. Shortly after, the entire rubric is neatly organised in Excel, with a tab for each domain.

The third example is a PDF about the DOT Framework, the research methods for ICT. The request is for a compact PowerPoint, simple, less is more, to be explained to ICT university of applied sciences students. EduGPT reads the PDF and builds the presentation. In PowerPoint, Pascal then applies a design with a single click.

How the integration works

This integration also runs via MCP, the Model Context Protocol, the same open standard as our integrations with Edurep, Edusources, and n8n. The MCP server Document Creation converts the chat response into a docx, xlsx, pptx, or pdf and provides a download link that is valid for 24 hours. In the chat, you can see exactly which step is being executed, so you can follow along as a human.

In the knowledge clip, the Mistral Medium model is running, fully hosted in Europe. So, no Big Tech. Automatic application of house style is still in development. Until then, you can easily apply your own template to the result, as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel have this functionality by default, and most schools and institutions already have such templates.

The same integration also works in GovGPT for government, OrgGPT for organisations, and CareGPT for healthcare.

Why this matters

Document creation is the main reason for many teachers, lecturers, and students to look at ChatGPT Team or Copilot. Now, this can be done within the secure environment of your own institution, without an extra licence per team and without data leaving the EU. A report, a worksheet, a presentation for class. You ask for it and you get the file.

For ICT departments and data protection officers, this is a clear story. Everything runs in Europe, including the AI model, and the generated files are temporarily stored on our own infrastructure. If CivAI sets up the integration for you, we take over management and logging, with a proper data processing agreement and privacy statement.

Previously, knowledge clips were released about open educational resources via Edusources and Edurep and about AI automations with n8n. Document creation is the next integration in that series. This way, EduGPT is becoming, step by step, an environment where you not only talk to AI, but actually work with it.
