Innovation in education does not start with technology, but with responsibility

Innovation in education does not start with technology, but with responsibility | CivAI News

We are proud to share that CivAI and EduGPT have been awarded a grant for a project focused on pupils at risk of truancy and potential dropout.

The starting point is clear:
not to add more technology, but to provide better support where continuity in learning is under pressure.

Together with schools, we are developing a safe, human-centred AI environment in which AI companions help pupils with structure, study planning, and reflection. Always under the supervision of teachers and mentors, and always embedded within the existing care and education process.

Let me be explicit about this:
AI does not replace teachers, mentors, or care professionals. It supports them, enabling them to identify issues earlier and provide more targeted guidance.

Especially for pupils whose attendance cannot be taken for granted, proximity can be organised, provided technology is designed carefully and pedagogically. And that is exactly what we are all going to work hard on together!

🙏 Thank you to
EJay van Baaren for your trust.
🙏 Thank you to
Samenwerkingsverband VO Delflanden for the shared ambition to help prevent dropout.

In the coming period, we will start a pilot in which we will develop, test, and improve together with teachers, schools, and pupils. Step by step. Just as educational innovation is meant to be.

For me, this confirms once again:

The future of AI in education is not determined by what is technologically possible, but by what is pedagogically responsible.
