Pupils build their own AI guide, and it is free for everyone

More than 180 students from the CVO schools in Rotterdam have built their own website with the help of generative AI: jijmetai.nl. Not a ready-made lesson programme imposed from above, but a guide created by students for students.

The site explains in clear language how to use AI responsibly and effectively for schoolwork. There is a section on how to use AI, one on how AI works, and a prompt guide that helps students ask better questions and recognise mistakes made by an AI tool. Everything is freely accessible, with no account or paywall required.

What stands out about this approach

The special aspect lies not only in the content, but in who created it. Students themselves explore the boundaries between using AI smartly and simply copying, and translate that into concrete tools for their peers. This often works better than a school-wide protocol imposed from above.
