The Next Student: learning, thinking and guidance in the AI era
On 22 September, Pascal Mariany will speak at The Next Student about a question that is becoming increasingly urgent in education: How do we guide students who now use AI structurally in their learning process?
Because generative AI is not only changing how students complete assignments. It is also changing how they search for information, think, learn, experience motivation, and expect support. This sometimes clashes with how education, study guidance, and communication are currently organised.
During the workshop “The Next Student: learning, thinking, and guidance in the AI era”, we will work with concrete cases from practice. Not from the perspective of which tool is convenient, but from the underlying pedagogical and didactic question.
What does this require from study coaches, teachers, and communication professionals? How do you remain relevant as an institution in a world where information and support are always available? And how do we ensure that AI enhances learning, rather than replaces it?
Where appropriate, we will also show how we approach this within EduGPT as a safe AI learning environment for education.
