Why we at CivAI choose European AI hosting, and build custom solutions when necessary

More and more organisations are asking the same question. Where is our data actually stored, and who has access to it once we start working with AI? At CivAI, this is not a side issue, but the very starting point from which we build everything.

Our products run on European infrastructure, with Scaleway as our hosting partner. This means that data from schools, governments, and organisations remains within the European Union, under European regulations and without detours via American cloud giants. No dependence on technology you cannot control yourself.

A real choice, not dogma

For us, sovereignty does not mean that everything must necessarily run locally. It means that organisations have a genuine choice. Fully local via open models such as Qwen, Gemma or Mistral, European-hosted via our own infrastructure, or controlled cloud usage where it is precisely clear what happens to which data.

This freedom of choice is built into EduGPT, GovGPT, OrgGPT, and CareGPT. Every organisation can decide for itself which form suits its risk profile, with audit trail, logging, and control over its own data as a fixed foundation.

And if the standard is not sufficient

Sometimes a standard product does not fit exactly what an organisation needs. That is why at CivAI we also build bespoke AI web apps, on the same secure and European infrastructure as our existing products. Think of a specific workflow, an integration with an existing system, or a companion that is entirely tailored to a single field or process.

The starting point remains the same, whether it concerns EduGPT or a web app we develop especially for a client. Control over data, transparency about what the model does, and a choice that fits the organisation rather than the other way round.
